Only use PS4’s Share Play with people you trust – here’s why

Share Play is one of the most interesting features on the PlayStation 4. If you’ve never used it, Share Play allows you to hand over control of your game to another player over the Internet. You’ll still see the game on your TV, but another player will be running, jumping, shooting and climbing.

Unfortunately, that player might also be irreversibly erasing your progress too. More →

You can now play Destiny for free, and save your progress for when you purchase it

Destiny has been a big success so far, at least when it comes to overall sales, but that doesn’t mean Bungie is happy with the number of copies it has sold to date. The company is now letting curious players who aren’t sure whether they should spend $60 on Destiny try the game free of charge. Even more interesting, the free trial includes the option for gamers to save their progress and continue the game from where they left off as soon as they purchase the full game. More →

Destiny review: Lonely planets

Destiny is one of the most high-concept releases to ever reach home consoles. Combining some of the most beloved elements of massively-multiplayer online games with the pedigree of one of the most heralded FPS developers of the past decade, it was nearly impossible to imagine a reality where Destiny didn’t live up to the hype. But that’s the reality we live in. More →

Destiny first impressions: Blinded by the hype

I’m glad that I invested some time into the alpha and beta tests of Destiny, because I know I would have been disappointed with the game otherwise. Destiny isn’t what I expected. I don’t know if it’s what I was promised, but the ideas are spread so thin that it only seems to scratch the surface of what I’ve come to expect from an MMO, a shooter or even a Bungie title. But I think I’m enjoying it regardless. More →

Microsoft finds a hilarious way to market a game you’re not supposed to know is coming to Xbox One

Unless you’ve been paying close attention, you might be convinced that Destiny is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. This couldn’t be further from the truth — in fact, Bungie’s highly anticipated FPS is launching on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One next week, but because of an advertising deal between Activision and Sony, Microsoft has been prohibited from promoting the game for its consoles. But rather than accept its fate, Microsoft has found a clever way to let everyone know that Destiny will be coming out on Xbox One as well. Explore Destiny’s incredible virtual worlds using a cool new Google Maps-style tool

There are several notable game releases this month, such as Disney Infinity 2.0 and Hyrule Warriors, but none have received more buzz than Bungie’s massively multiplayer first-person shooter, Destiny. Activision, the game’s publisher, has spared no expense when it comes to marketing Destiny — a stroll through Times Square might be the most prominent evidence of this. Now Destiny is taking a page from Google Maps for a unique experiment that will allow fans to explore the worlds of Destiny before it launches. More →

Everyone is now invited to play the Destiny beta

If you somehow missed out on all the code giveaways and couldn’t bring yourself to preorder the game, you’re in luck — the Destiny beta is now open to anyone with a active subscription on Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus as of 4pm PDT on Thursday. Bungie is basically conducting a stress test over the weekend by allowing everyone to join in the beta, so don’t be surprised if there are some issues on Friday night after everyone gets off work. The beta was already taken offline for an extended period of time earlier in the week for maintenance though, so hopefully the servers are prepared for a massive influx of Guardians. More →
