We now know exactly when Apple will unveil the iPhone 7

August 10th, 2016 at 10:55 AM
iPhone 7 Release Date September

Not too long ago, reports claimed the iPhone 7 would be released on September 16th, with preorders set to start a week earlier on September 9th. This prompted speculation that Apple would host its annual iPhone unveiling event a few days before preorders start, on either September 6th or 7th. A new report that focuses on this year’s major MacBook Pro release has apparently let it slip that the new MacBook won’t be unveiled during Apple’s upcoming big iPhone 7 press conference, which will apparently take place on September 7th.

“The new [MacBook Pro] computers have been in advanced testing within Apple since earlier this year, said one of the people, who didn’t want to be identified discussing products before their release,” Bloomberg said in a report on Wednesday morning. “The MacBook Pros aren’t likely to debut at an event currently scheduled for Sept. 7 to introduce next-generation versions of the iPhone, according to one of the people. Apple spokesman Bill Evans declined to comment.”

A few days ago, Bloomberg did provide more details about the features expected in the upcoming iPhone series but did not offer a date for Apple’s fall iPhone event.

Well-known leaker Evan Blass said recently that the iPhone 7 will be released on September 16th.

He then said that preorders will start on September 9th:

Independently of that, Apple enthusiasts John Gruber also predicted a few days ago that the iPhone 7 keynote event would likely take place on September 7th.

Apple may not have given Bloomberg any insight on its MacBook or iPhone 7 release date plans, but it evidently appears that people with knowledge of the matter have September 7th listed as the date for this year’s iPhone unveiling.
