We already knew that the PlayStation VR headset would be slightly cheaper than competitors – but then again you do need to buy a console for it to work – and Sony finally announced a release date for its highly anticipated VR product.

The company revealed at its E3 conference on Monday that PlayStation VR will ship to consumers on October 13th. The pricing structure remains unchanged. We’re looking at $399 for the headset, while an extra $100 will get you a camera and Move controllers on top of the headset. Yes, you need these accessories, if you don’t own them already.  And yes, you should be able to preorder them.

Before you ask, there will be plenty of PS4 games ready by the time PlayStation VR launches, with Sony partners having created around 50 titles for virtual reality.

Considering that the PS4 has pretty much war the sales war against the Xbox One, there’s plenty of potential for Sony, with millions of homes potentially ready for fast VR deployment.
