The iPhone 6s is already one of the world’s top smartphone cameras and some pro photographers have compared its performance with digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras that are typically used in pro photo shoots. You might not need to use the iPhone 6s camera for professional photo sessions, but there’s a new case that should certainly improve your photography game.

Created by miggo, the Pictar is a partial iPhone case that fits on a variety of iPhone models, from iPhone 4 all the way to iPhone 6s. What the case does is to bring you more physical controls to your photography experience. The case comes with five user programmable wheels/buttons, a dedicated mobile app, detachable wrist and shoulder straps, tripod attachment support, high-frequency dual-tone OS, support for additional lighting accessories, and an ergonomic-camera-like grip.
In a way, the Pictar is similar to one of the modular accessories LG created for the LG G5. The difference is that you don’t have to tear apart your smartphone to apply it.
The Pictar case is supposed to give you more control over your photos, letting you take pictures in all sorts of environments while offering a better grip on the phone. Not to mention that you don’t have to touch the screen to take pictures or record videos, or the shutter (volume) button of the iPhone.
The only “problem” with this case is that it’s a Kickstarter project, meaning you really should make sure you pay attention to everything about the project if you’re planning to buy one. Fortunately, we know that miggo already successfully funded two other Kickstarter camera projects.
The Pictar case costs $90, and should ship this December assuming the $100,000 goal is reached. The following videos show the Pictar case in action.
