Kodak loses patent infringement case against Apple and RIM

Business

Remember how Kodak filed suit against Apple and RIM a year ago alleging patent infringement? Well, late yesterday, a U.S. International Trade Commission judge ruled that Kodak’s case — which related to low resolution previews of videos that are displayed on-screen while recording full resolution video — is invalid. Kodak had previously won claims against LG and Samsung, after which it was able to put a licensing deal in place worth a reported $864 million. Things might not turn out that well this time around, however. RIM has filed a federal suit challenging other Kodak patents and Apple is suing Kodak for patent infringement of its patents.

Kodak, please stop trying to sue companies in order to stay afloat! Work on better products, printers and whatever else it is you make. Why don’t you focus on AirPrint? If you can’t beat em, join em!

I’ve really just gotta start thinking up stuff and patenting it. Seems lucrative.

I wonder how advanced our technology would be if technology companies stop suing each other and just focus on technology? It seems rather greedy and counter productive to have 100 lawsuits going at once. As if Apple needs any more money than they already have. Come on now. These are the same fat greedy pigs who bankrupt the country and throw it into a depression then sue each other because $16Billion in revenue in one year isnt enough……

so both parties are suing each other? Is this the way to do busines these days?
