We’ve long known that Tesla knows how to manufacture incredibly fast cars with jaw-dropping acceleration, but the company really outdid itself when it introduced the P100D this past August. As if the Model S P90D weren’t fast enough already, Tesla’s new top of the line Model S can now blast from 0-60 MPH in just 2.5 seconds in Ludicrious Mode. What’s more, the car can go from 0-100 in 6.5 seconds and can complete a quarter-mile in 10.7 seconds flat.

When Tesla CEO Elon Musk introduced the Model S P100D to the public earlier this year, he boasted that the P100D is the fastest production car on the planet, a title it may hold onto for quite a while.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a few interesting P100D videos hit the web, including one involving Tesla’s flagship Model S going head to head with a Lamborghini Huracan. Now because most Model S race videos tend to take place in ideal driving conditions, the enterprising folks over at DragTimes decided to see how the Model S P100D performed in the rain on a wet track.
Impressively, the Model S was up to the task and performed quite well. As you can see via the video below, the Model S P100D in Luidicrous Mode managed to go from 0-60 MPH in just 2.7 seconds.
