This is the fastest way to disable T-Mobile’s Binge On

T-Mobile Binge On Toggle Codes

T-Mobile subscribers who are already hooked on the carrier’s Binge On unlimited video streaming perk are probably familiar with the current controversy over the service. The EFF recently confirmed that T-Mobile is throttling all video traffic, or “optimizing” as the company calls it, regardless of whether or not the content is being streamed by a Binge On partner. That means you can’t enjoy high-quality videos on your mobile device as long as Binge On is enabled — and T-Mobile has enabled Binge On for all relevant subscribers by default.

However, as T-Mobile CEO John Legere explained recently, Binge On can easily be disabled by subscribers who don’t want their video quality degraded; we showed you how to disable Binge On in a recent post. Hunting for the settings is rather annoying though, so now we’ve found a much easier way to do it.

A Reddit user discovered that there’s a short code you can use to determine the status of Binge On on your account. Just key in #264# (#BNG#) and then hit dial. If it’s turned on, you’ll receive the following message: “Your BINGE ON is Enabled, to Disable dial #263#.” If it’s turned off, you will get a different code, that tells you how to enable it: “Your BINGE ON is Enabled, to Disable dial #266#” – see image below.

The user points out that “if you are in unlimited try it out. If you have limited data, remember that if you turn it off, you will lose the free 3-month unlimited data gift until March 1st – so I don’t recommend it if you have the gift.”

Just remember these codes to toggle Binge On whenever you feel like it so you won’t have to dig through the menus on your T-Mobile account.
