Late next week, a new flagship Android handset will be launched, effectively becoming the next big new thing. Unfortunately, it’s not the one you probably want to see, though it’ll certainly be one of the top Android handsets of the first half of the year.

LG already confirmed that the all-screen LG G6 is going to be unveiled on February 2016 at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. Unlike last year, LG won’t have to fend off comparisons with the newest Galaxy S model in town. The massive Galaxy Note 7 debacle forced Samsung to delay the launch of the Galaxy S8, which was initially scheduled to debut at the same trade show.

New leaks, meanwhile, indicate that the LG G6 might disappoint some Android fans out there. The phone won’t make use of Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chip, a recent report claimed, and a new leak seems to further reinforce that idea.

A leaked slide from a confidential presentation that LG made during CES in early January specifically mentions that the LG G6 will feature a Snapdragon 821 chip. That’s the same processor found inside Google’s incredibly popular Pixel phones, but not the latest thing from Qualcomm’s factories. That would be the Snapdragon 835, which has already been bought up by Samsung for the Galaxy S8.

The same slide, shown by Android Community, says the phone will feature a 5.7-inch display, water and dust resistance, a rear fingerprint sensor and quad DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter).

LG, meanwhile, confirmed in a press release that the G6 will get even better sound than the LG G6 or the LG V20. The new quad DAC will be provided by ESS Technology.

The slide above also  shows the ride side of the smartphone in what seems to be a press render of the phone. The image suggests the LG G6 will have smaller bezels and a display with round corners.

The image above, obtained by IT Home, shows a front panel of an LG phone. Its design seems to match the image in the leaked slide. We’re looking at smaller top and bottom bezels, and a screen that features rounded corners. An LG logo can be easily spotted on the bottom bezel.
