Apple’s new iOS 10 software is about one month away from being released to the public at this point, but most hardcore Apple fans have already been using it on their iPhones and iPads since June. As it has done in the past, Apple released iOS 10 as a private beta for developers shortly after announcing it during the annual WWDC conference, and then it released a public beta as well, allowing anyone with a compatible device to test the new software ahead of its release.

On Tuesday, Apple released a new build of its next-generation mobile operating system ahead of schedule, and iOS 10 public beta 4 followed soon after on Wednesday morning — so what was so important in iOS 10 beta 5 and its corresponding public beta that they be released just one week after the previous versions of iOS 10?

DON’T MISS: Leaked video shows a real iPhone 7 in action for the first time ever

Sadly, the question above will remain unanswered even after you look through all of the changes in iOS 10 beta 5 (iOS 10 public beta 4 is functionally the same as developer beta 5). They’re mostly housekeeping and minor tweaks here and there, so it’s likely that there were some behind-the-scenes changes made that haven’t yet been discovered — perhaps a serious bug fix or two.

Of course, there are still some changes worth noting even though iOS 10 beta 5 doesn’t have any Earth-shattering new features.

Apple news blogs MacRumors and 9to5Mac both dug through the newest beta and put together quick videos to show off the new features, which include big design changes to the widget screen, some new sounds and more. Both videos are embedded below, in case you were wondering whether or not you should bother updating.
