Video walkthrough shows best new features in iOS 10 beta 2

iOS 10 Beta 2 Download

July 4th marks one of the biggest celebrations of the year in the United States, but the real holiday came a day later on Tuesday, July 5th, when Apple released iOS 10 beta 2 to developers. Of course we use the term “developers” very loosely, since anyone and everyone can install the iOS 10 beta by following these simple instructions. It might not be the smartest idea since the software is still in the early stages of development and there are plenty of annoying bugs and app crashes to deal with, but that won’t stop anxious Apple fans who want the latest and greatest features iOS 10 has to offer.

Speaking of features, it’s time to take a look at everything new in iOS 10 beta 2.

First, let’s briefly cover a new feature that’s not in iOS 10 beta 2: dark mode. We know that there’s a dark mode lurking deep within iOS 10’s code so it’s coming at some point, but the option to enable dark mode is still nowhere to be found in iOS 10 beta 2.

With that out of the way… what’s new?

First up, the new Messages App Store is live, allowing users of the newly overhauled iOS Messages app to download Apple’s new sticker packs. Third parties will be able to sell stickers and apps in there once iOS 10 is released to the public this coming September. The Messages app also now has a low quality mode that compresses images to save data.

The user interface has been tweaked and updated in a number of key areas. For example, legacy widgets now display fully and the Control Center has been tweaked a bit as well. New 3D Touch shortcuts are present on the flashlight and timer icons in Control Center as well.

What else is new? Check out the video walkthrough below from MacRumors and see for yourself.
