Every once in a while, Apple adds a few more devices to its list of vintage and obsolete products. According to MacRumors, that list is going to grow in 2016, as an internal memo obtained by the publication shows that four computers released between 2009 and 2011 are going to be obsoleted on December 31st.

Providing the memo is legitimate, these four Macs will be classified as either vintage or obsolete (depending on where they were purchased) in the United States, Canada, Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region in 2017:
- MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)
- MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2011)
- Mac mini (Early 2009)
- MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2009)
Once these products are added to the list, they are no longer eligible for repairs or part replacements from Apple or any of its authorized service providers. The only exception is if they were bought in either California or Turkey, where Apple is still obliged to offer service on these products until December 31st, 2018.
This won’t be of concern to a very significant portion of the population, but if you’re still depending on one of these devices and want to have something on it repaired or replaced, you might want to do so before the end of the year.
