A couple of years back, I wrote about SYNEK, an exciting Kickstarter project that had the potential to change the way we drink beer at home. Now that project has become a reality and it has the promise to bring delicious draft beer to you right in your home.

SYNEK essentially gives you your own mini-tap that you can store right on your kitchen counter and use to pour yourself fresh beer whenever you like. What makes SYNEK interesting is that it uses boxed wine-style bags that you fill up with your beer of choice and that you then install into your SYNEK dispenser, which will keep the beer just as cold as you want it. SYNEK says that its bags can hold 30 pounds per square inch and are “vacuum-sealed and UV protected to maintain quality” for weeks. In other words, if you get a bag filled up by your favorite brewer, you won’t have to drink it all right away.

SYNEK this week announced two major additions to its core beer dispenser product: A Growler Adapter that lets you use either the companies beer bags or a glass growler in your dispenser, and redesigned bags capable of holding more pressure than earlier versions.

The base SYNEK model costs $329 and it comes with five cartridges, a SYNEK cap, and a 20-ounce refillable CO2 container. You can also order 5-packs of replacement cartridges for $9.99 each.
