Microsoft is still riding high after a second consecutive NPD victory in December, but Xbox head Phil Spencer is already looking ahead to the next big thing. In this case, that big thing is the company’s Windows 10 event on January 21st, where Spencer and his team plan to discuss Microsoft’s plans for making the new operating system a platform for gamers.

LAST TIME: It sounds like PC gamers will love what Microsoft has in store for Windows 10

“I’m excited to be talking on January 21st,” said Spencer. “We have speakers coming up talking about Windows 10 and the great work that we’re doing there. For the Xbox team, this is the beginning of our discussion with fans about the work that we’re doing to bring gaming to the Windows 10 operating system.”

Last year, Spencer said that gaming on Windows 10 will be a huge focus for his team in 2015. Despite the fact that computer gaming has revolved around the Windows platform for so long, the company hasn’t really ever shared a worthwhile connection with its community.

“It’s really nice to finally be able to get to talk about this,” Spencer continued. “We’ll continue the conversation throughout the year. We remain committed to gaming on console, but we know that we have fans and gamers that also play on PC and phone, and it’s important that we build out the features that we have, learning from what we’ve done on console, and helping make Windows 10 the best operating system we’ve ever created for gamers on PCs.”
