Nintendo’s Switch console is the most popular console in town right now. And while fans probably love playing Zelda as much as they can, they must be looking forward to more games hitting the platform. A new report indicates that Blizzard may be willing to develop content for Nintendo’s newest console in the future, including two of its most popular games, Hearthstone and Overwatch.
Over 50 million players worldwide play Hearthstone on computers, iPhone, and Android. The card game is immensely popular and might be exactly the kind of game Switch users might want to play on the go.
Because it has a touchscreen display, the Switch could be a more likely candidate to get Hearthstone in the future.
In an interview with the Express Online, Blizzard execs said Hearthstone on the Switch is something worth considering.
“I personally haven’t talked about it, but I’m more focused on card design,” Blizzard senior game designer Mike Donais said. “Hearthstone is available on iPads and phones, so it’s a good discussion worth having.”
It’s interesting that Blizzard would not deny interest in bringing this particular game to the Switch, although that’s not a confirmation that a Hearthstone version for Switch is in the making.
Overwatch might be another popular Blizzard creation coming to Nintendo’s console. “I’m loving the Switch!” Blizzard game director Jeff Kaplan said on Reddit a few weeks ago. ”Getting OW on the Switch is very challenging for us. But we’re always open minded about exploring possible platforms.”
Again, no confirmations here either, but Blizzard is interested in the Switch.
