The Moto 360 may be one of the most hotly anticipated smartwatches out there, but a new report from Asia casts a shadow on the device’s design and build quality. According to TechWeb, the Moto 360 will be made of plastic rather than metal, as it was previously believed. Furthermore, the device will come with wireless charging abilities, but Motorola apparently had to increase the thickness of the device to 13.5mm to be able to offer users this particular charging option.

The publication also says the watch’s display will have a diameter of 48mm, or 1.88 inches. The Moto 360 is expected to start selling in stores this summer, although Motorola is yet to officially announce a release date or confirm any of the recent leaks detailing the wearable device.
Comparatively, the other two smartwatches running Android Wear — the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live — are 9.95mm and 8.9mm thick, respectively, and have 1.65-inch and 1.63-inch displays, respectively.
A test Moto 360 unit has been spotted on a train ride, with one lucky fan detailing his experience in the presence of the device.
“Yes, it’s every bit as gorgeous as it is in the pictures. Forget about it being a good-looking smartwatch, its one of the best looking ‘watches’ period. He had black on black, and man did it look sexy. I initially thought the silver might have been the one to get. But rest assured, whichever one you choose, it will be gorgeous,” he said on The Verge forums, without revealing whether the Moto 360 has a metal or plastic body.
