HTC DROID Incredible 2 review

HTC DROID Incredible 2 review

The DROID Incredible 2 recently landed on Verizon Wireless, and it has some tough shoes to fill. When the original launched, it was BGR’s favorite Android phone to date despite stiff competition from the Motorola DROID, which launched at the same time. The DROID Incredible 2 packs some decent hardware, like a 1GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p video, and more, but its specs — and data speeds — don’t match those of phones at the higher end of Verizon’s portfolio. Is the DROID Incredible 2 a worthy successor to the original or does it fall short? Read on to find out!

HTC Holiday headed to AT&T with 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.5-inch display

HTC Holiday headed to AT&T with 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.5-inch display

The HTC Holiday may soon join the Infuse 4G as AT&T’s second smartphone with a 4.5-inch display. According to information obtained by 911Sniper, the Holiday will offer a spec sheet that could put the Samsung GALAXY S II to shame. The Holiday will supposedly pack a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8660 processor, the large aforementioned 4.5-inch screen with a 960 x 540 qHD resolution, 1GB of RAM, Android 2.3.4, and an 8-megapixel camera. We’re also hoping HTC includes its latest Sense user interface, which we most recently saw on the HTC Sensation. Unfortunately there isn’t any information about a possible launch date just yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see this sport a “4G” tag on it, also. More →

HP TouchPad to cost $599 from Walmart

HP TouchPad to cost $599 from Walmart

According to a purported screenshot of an internal Walmart inventory system, the retail giant will soon offer HP’s first webOS-powered tablet at its stores across the country. The screenshot, which was obtained by enthusiast blog PreCentral.net, shows a 32GB Wi-Fi model priced exactly in line with Apple’s iPad 2 at $599. The price point might make it a tough sell over Apple’s popular offering, but webOS fans eager to get their hands on the HP slate at least know what they’ll likely have to spend when the tablet finally does launch. Walmart will also supposedly carry the TouchPad’s Touchstone charging dock for $79.88, a Bluetooth keyboard for $69.88 and an AC charger for $29.88. We took a hands-on look at the TouchPad when HP unveiled the tablet at its Think Beyond event this past February, and we were very excited to see webOS shine on a large-form device. The integration with webOS smartphones was impressive and we can’t wait to get our hands on a review unit. Until then, we’ll all just have to sit tight and wait for HP to make launch details official. More →

HTC Lead for AT&T image and spec sheet leaked

Pocketnow has gotten its hands on an image of the HTC Lead from AT&T, and 911 Sniper has leaked a few of the specs. Neither AT&T nor HTC have announced the Lead yet, but it’s rumored to sport a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8660 processor — which we first saw in the T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G — 768MB of RAM, a 4.3-inch WVGA display, and a 5-megapixel camera. It’s unclear when the Lead will launch, but the device is rumored to run Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), which could make it the first Gingerbread device on AT&T. There’s no word of HSPA+ support, but we’d be stunned if this device launched without a 4G label glued to the end of its name. More →

RadioShack offering HTC Inspire 4G for just $29.99

RadioShack offering HTC Inspire 4G for just $29.99

RadioShack quietly announced on Monday that it is now offering AT&T’s Inspire 4G for just $29.99 with a two-year contract for new AT&T customers and existing subscribers looking to upgrade. Though the Inspire is still a relatively young device that was just released in February, newer dual-core smartphones are already making it look a tad gray up top. Its specs are still respectable, however, and they include a 4.3-inch display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.2 (Froyo), an 8-megapixel camera, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and HTC’s Sense UI. RadioShack’s price is the lowest we’ve seen from a reputable retailer, and it’s good from now through May 21st.
