iPhone 5 on schedule for a June launch, report claims

Following rumors suggesting that Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 5 launch might be delayed until September, etnews.co.kr reports that Apple’s next-generation iPhone is on track for a release during the fourth week of June. Apple has traditionally released new versions of its popular smartphone in June or July, but recent rumors suggested the iPhone 5 might be delayed until September. The rumors were further supported by reports that Apple might focus solely on iOS 5 at WWDC this year and forgo a hardware announcement. “‘iPhone 5,Â’ the next model of iPhone 4, will be released on the coming 4th week of June,” etnews.co.kr reports. “In the midst of the iPhone 5 postponement rumors, Apple has confirmed that iPhone 5 will be released as planned and it will be released simultaneously in Korea through SK Telecom and KT.” Rumors suggest Apple still may focus solely on software at WWDC 2011 and instead announce the iPhone 5 at a special media event hosted by CEO Steve Jobs.

      Not sure why people think it won’t? iPad 2 was released on both carriers at the same time. I just can’t see that happening, Apple is smarter then that.

    Yay, more iGarbage. Unless it has 2 or more cores, a 5 inch screen, and a 12 MP cam as well as at least 5 MP FFC then it will be severely behind the DROIDS that are coming out regularly.

      hey dum-dum: iPhone 1 (known officially as iPhone) preceeded iPhone 3G. If iPhone 3G was named like iPhone 4′s name, it would have been called iPhone 2, not 3.

    Nothing seems fishy about that statement? Apple would never confirm an iPhone 5 even exists, moretheless that its release date.

    If this is true, buy some put options on Apple stock.

    There’s no way this thing will have 4G by summer time, we would have already seen its fingerprints in network access logs during testing. And there’s no way the market will forgive such complacency, esp. with the plethora of Android phones coming with 4G capabilities.

      4g isn’t mainstream yet, and the phones are still massive. No way would steve jobs allow verizons radio choice force him to release the most gigantic iphone ever, which would also cause the vzw iphone to be larger then the att…

      Iphones are for the masses, do you think the majority of users want 4hr battery life while using 4g that tbolt users get??

    next-gen ipad was going to be delayed according to the rumor link… Guess what, next-gen ipad is already released.. It was in march… even before april rofl… I think apple will keep their word and launch the model mid-summer
