Apple’s revenue could grow 50% in two years, analysts say

mobile

According one analyst, Apple’s revenues could grow 50% through the next two years, driven by the demand for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch apps. Forrester Research founder George Colony told Bloomberg that he believes Apple will soon be a $200 billion revenue company. “They’ll be bigger than IBM next year, and they’ll be bigger than HP the year after that,” Colony said. Bloomberg surveyed a number of analysts and the average prediction is that Apple’s sales will jump 54% this fiscal year to $100.3 billion, but Apple’s sales growth could fall to 18% in 2012. Colony believes Apple could face some roadblocks if Steve Jobs leaves his position as CEO, but also argues that Apple probably has enough products planned to last three or four years if Jobs does depart from his role. After that time, it may be hard for Apple to continue to update its product portfolio as often as it does. “Without Steve Jobs as the CEO, I think it will be much harder for them to do that,” Colony said. ”That would be a massive, massive hit to the valuation.”

You say the same thing in every post, get a life. You obviously don’t have one hence the reason you have an android. You can spend hours rooting your device and pushing adb commands to your phone to make sure you keep your phone up to date.

        Wa-wa-wa ….. my phone “Does” everything your’s “CAN’T”!!!….Wa-wa-wa …..

Ditto that. Apple will fail and likely decrease by 50% in overall share. It’s safe to say DROID is on top for good now.

      • Anonymous

kool Norm…. you ‘Shopped’ your name into your NormDroid. crApple can’t do that because they’re iTarded.

    Very conservative estimate.

How do I become an analyst? Because they seem to have the easiest job in the world. “As long as Steve Jobs is in charge, Apple will grow. When he leaves, they will only have enough innovation for a few years before they go downhill.” A 10 year old could make the same statement.
Also, I don’t think you can really judge the tech spotlight’s future. Three years ago, Android was nothing and few saw anything in it. And now its bigger than iOS or RIM and is slowly overtaking Nokia/Symbian. The industry moves too fast to make assumptions and estimates.

    • Dario69

Few saw nothing in Android because it just came out. No one is going to make that much of leap. Stop with your Android love and see the forest from the trees. No one is saying Android is going to fail or fall behind Apple now that it has proven itself in the market. Numbers are only one factor in this market.

If numbers drive everything Android would be claiming success in the apps market. But guess what, the Android market sucks and even Google admits it needs help. If an analyst makes a estimate on the Google market not succeeding is it because their head is up the Apple core or because it is based on facts? Or do people only complain that analysts are being biased because they do not saying something they like to hear?

      • Anonymous

Dude, calm down. Just cool off, sit down. I used android as an example of how wrong analysts could be, I wasn’t bashing anybody. I think you need to cool your apple love, cause you are seeing red at the very mention of android. I’m writng this right now an a MacBook, so I like apple. I wrote that original comment on my Windows 7 PC, so again I’m not biased. And, I saw your comment pop up on my Droid before I pulled out my mac to start typing. You calling anybody but yourself a fanboy is bullshit, and actually very ironic.
Have fun with an all Apple life, I’ll be reaping the benefits of the best of all three worlds.

  • QNX Please

Seriously BGR please start focusing more on facts instead of analyst BS and other rumors, its painful to read. I particularly love your last analyst that said the Playbook will fail because it will have no apps, then RIM announcing the ability for the Playbook to run Android apps. It’s all speculation to try and get their names in the news hoping they are right. Fact Apple’s revenue will increase, thats an easy one. But a 50% increase in one year… c’mon they didn’t have that when the iPhone 3G was released or when the iPad was released… what makes him think they’ll get that with no NEW products, just updated ones. Then he goes on to say they’ll have an 18% decrease in 2012… I swear you’ll post anything to praise Apple and smear the competition.

    • I HAT APPLES!

PLEASE, RIM GREA 505 FROM LAST YEAR AND APPLE EXPECTS TO DO THIS. WHY NOT DO IT FIRST AND TALK LATER FAGGY APPLE HOMOS!

      • Anonymous

That explains why you hate apple… You’re a homophobe that only does what his friends approve. You are not allowed into the goofan (aka apple hater) nation. Your application has been denied for the 17th time!

  • Dario69

Ultimately is boils down to apps. Whether it be smartphones or tablets. Specs only matter to geeks that hover over sites like BGR and Engadget. Apple knows this. It doesn’t matter how powerful these devices get at the end of the day it is about the support and longevity of the purchase. And that involves the apps.

I learned this the hard way dealing with WinMo for 10 years with the first WinCE device until my first Android purchase with the Captivate. I hated Apple and wanted Android to succeed. It was obvious that wasn’t going to happen due to the pathetic Android Market – past, current incarnation of this poor excuse of an app store. Now I am a happy iPad and recent iPhone4 owner. The apps make the difference. Anyone that says otherwise is living in denial. Enjoy living in oblivion.

  • Dickhead

seriously, BGR, its getting gross now. no one wants to keep watching you S jobs’ D… its gross

    • Anonymous

So quit reading the stories and commenting on them. From my point of view you seem to enjoy watching.

      • Dickhead

Will do… appreciate the advice. Before I leave, any suggestions of good websites to view that aren’t either up a CEO’s ass or buried in Steve Jobs’ decaying crotch? What I mean is, a good tech website that’s not completely biased toward one company or another? I only ask assuming you’ve had enough time to stop playing with yourself (or playing with the Boy Genius) to view other sites.

      • Anonymous

I wish I knew of one. I refuse to go to Gizmodo, and I’ve limited my reading of Engadget. BGR is actually pretty decent. Jonathan is the most biased, by far, but the other columnists are fair, for the most part.

      • Anonymous

Just go to the Google sites mate. We are not biased to anyone, of course as long as they are good to Google. We know our shit man! And, by the way, it’s kinda low to make remarks about SJ’s decaying crotch, even for a Goofan (aka Apple Hater) wannabe like yourself. :-)

      • Dickhead

Ok, whether its his crotch or his kidneys… we’re all punching our tickets out anyway. Bottomline, I actually hate Android… great in theory but not in practice. The thing is, I used to enjoy BGR… but it gets so muddled now. It’d just be nice to have a place where I can go to read about the latest in everything and not be puked on by the fanboys of every device. Am I wrong? I’m new to posting so maybe I should just stick to reading and leave the posting to you guys. I guess I’m just bored on this particular evening. The basketball games are basically over.

    • Anonymous

I ready BGR daily and I’d say they are more objective about covering mobile platforms than other big blogs like engadget and Gizmodo. I am not an Apple fanatic by any means, but I appreciate occasional analyst predictions like this (even if they do seem obvious) because they offer an early heads-up on which companies to invest in. I wish I could afford Apple stock right now!

      • Dickhead

You ready BGR for what? You know what… don’t answer that. I wish you could afford more than just Apple stock.

  • Anonymous

    I don’t care what anybody says . . . Apple will grow. I bought Apple stock at $4 a share and today Apple closed at $346.75. That’s 86.6875 times the original value. Let’s see . . . that x 346.75 = OFM!

  • max

But but but I thought you BB MORONS said you didn’t need apps? Waa hoppen, morons?

I like Steve Jobs and I admire his stoic perseverance in the face of cancer.

For that reason alone, I am going to buy an iPhone 5 when it comes out regardless of reviews and snide whining from Anroid fans.

    • Dickhead

      Neat

    • Anonymous

Well, you’ll be the only one.

    • Anonymous

That’s funny because the only reason I won’t buy Apple products is because of Steve Jobs. Like I said before, I think Apple products are good (not great but good) but Steve just turns me off.

    • Homer

I if had cancer would you give me too much money for one of my shiny turds?

        Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

  • Anonymous

Goofans (aka apple haters) around the world, be calm, we know this won’t be happening. Plus, the only analysts we like and respect and trust are the ones that say bad things about apple and good about google. How’s that for anlysis?

  • Dickhead

come on, people… i’m trying to stir the pot. talk some shit. Jonathan IS steve jobs’ scrote. my team just lost in bball and my girl is asleep. you are all tools for dicking around on this blog and not having a good time with girls. now talk some shit back so i have something to do for the next few minutes before its time to do something else that involves less dorks.

  • Mr. Leo

Well I guess I should be buying me some Apple stock.

  • http://bit.ly/samirsshah समीर शाह

I, for one, do not believe that Apple will be hit massively if she does not have Steve Jobs. I think Steve Jobs has seeded enough Apple DNA in Tim Cook. Think Sam Palmisano after Lou Gerstner at IBM.

    • Anonymous

      That is beautiful script.

Just crazy – but good for them.
