BlackBerry PlayBook launching on April 10th

Exclusive

We have been told by multiple sources that RIM’s very first tablet will be launching on April 10th in retail locations. Additionally, we’re told the OS goes GM (gold master) on March 31st and that when you boot up the device right out of the box, you’ll be prompted to upgrade to a newer version of the OS. We’ll have another hands-on coming up shortly but in the meantime, let us know if you plan to snag a PlayBook next month in the comments below, alright?

The playbook is only a good product for as long as it remains vapourware.

April 10th is the announcement, April 11th the denouement, and April 12th the stock starts it’s slide into the basement. By late May people will already be asking “what went wrong,” and by the time the iPhone 5 is released a month later rumours of “who is going to buy RIM” will fill teh Internets.

BB has yet to comment on battery life… if its less then about 8 hours or real use… I think it will fall the wayside. There are lots of corporate goons that can’t wait for device as the only reason BB is still in business is because of the slow to move Enterprise customers.

The iPad 2 is already wildly successful and it has not even shipped yet.

I personally checked out the playbook (hands-on) at an event and I must say everyone who is knocking them will eat crow. RIM has built this baby from the ground up to smoke the other tablets. The system performance smokes the others because it has symmetric processing, and none of the other systems has that. The web pages load extremely fast, I was amazed. And once you see the video quality….I was blown away by how sharp the HD video was. Everyone knows Blackberry has the best security, messaging system, and soon….GOOGLE APPS??? Can someone say, GAME CHANGER!!!! Hi haters Hi Haters!!! With the best hardware, best security, best HD Video specs, 4G!! for all carriers, TRUE MULTI-TASKING….where do I stop.

Not only am I going to buy one of these bad boys for me, but I will buy another for my wife. We are people who need to be productive. Oh, I will buy the iPad2 for the kid…

Dr, don’t forget that apple own top spot for smartphones, then it only took 2 years for google to overtake them. Sometimes when the topdog is at the top showing off, they fall asleep at the wheel and someone overtakes them. Analyst say Google will have more apps too…not too far from now. All Apple has over the others is more apps….but that will be a different story in 18-24 months. Apple will hold their own for the next 18 months, but I say in 2013 they will be playing catch-up.

I’m buying PlayBook the first day it releases! You other Platform guys are in serious denial. Don’t sleep on RIM. Multi tasking, full internet with “No compromise”, and the possibility of Android Apps??? Come on, be real. The is IT.. Xoom is okay, and the iPad 2 just ADDED a front faced camera.
