iPhone multitasking gestures demoed on video

mobile

BGR exclusively reported on Wednesday that Apple is currently testing a variety of gestures on its iPhone. While the more interesting gestures are still locked away safely on the Apple campus, the task-switching gesture managed to come out to play in Apple’s recent iOS 4.3 beta software. Antoni Nygaard decided to laugh in the face of Apple’s developer agreement on Wednesday and show off these new gestures on camera. As we’ve pointed out in the past, these gestures are currently in place for testing purposes only. Trust us — if and when gesture support is officially added to the iPhone, it won’t involve uncomfortable four-finger swipes. So while we all wait impatiently to see what official gesture support might look like, hit the break for the video demo of Apple’s test gestures in action on an iPhone 3GS.

Open up the phone app, dial 911 then press the green button. This will enable it on all phones including android devices.

Not gonna lie, that looks horrible. I am a fan of apple, not a fan boy, but that looks tragic. People are going to look so stupid when they are clawing their iPhones at bus stops. “Oh what’s that your doing?” “What?” “It looks like your clawing your phone” “oh yea i’m ‘multitasking’ “.

Why don’t they just copy Palm’s deck of cards? Sure it won’t be original, but this idea looks terrible. I would never, ever use that. I have to admit that it does look cool on an iPad, but the iPad also has a much bigger screen and you’d look like less of an idiot.

So, I guess Antoni Nygaard doesn’t intend to develop for Apple any more.

Wow.. you’re going to need a pocket manual to remember how to do these things. Not to mention the completely awkward way you have to hold your arm to get 4 fingers on the screen in that way.. HAHAHA iPhone sucks.

I know right!!! Task managers and running background processes eating battery are so much easier to understand. DROID FTW!!!

  • KCRic

This is as close as you’ll ever get to ‘multitasking’ on an iProduct

  • Ginzo_312

This “DUDE” needs to cut his nails.

The hp/palm webos has that app switcher since day one. It can do that with just one finger. That’s better than using multiple fingers.

  • DMN

The gestures might work OK on the iPad, but it’s retarded to do that on the iPhone with such a small screen. If Apple really is adding the gestures and getting rid of the home button then they damn well better make the iPhone 5 with a 4.5 inch screen.

OMG its freaking Awasome NOT this is the BS you fan boys drop your jaws for lol. apple gives me PTSD man lol

Not liking that swiping motion. Seems like a chore. Is he using 3 or four fingers? Either way too much for me.

  • HOLA

this goes with the whole “not having a home button for iPhones and iPads”

interesting, but it seems like a hassle
