Am I the only one who thinks this phone is really ugly?

    • cyanous

Where the hell is the d-pad? And yes it’s ugly.

    • TedP

I was thinking the opposite. But then again I had a N1 so maybe I am being nostalgic. I kinda like the slim and trim keyboard. It was always my issue with sliders that they were too bulky. This one looks like it might not be.

      • Dinero

why would they come out with a flagship phone that only has a 800mhz processor. Thats just about the dumbest thing since well, the Palm Pre

      • Drew

Another idiot chiming in and not knowing the new chipset architecture. It’s the same thing with camera MP, the larger the MP doesn’t necessarily mean the best photo quality. Go read an article…

  • frank

Yeah I agree its a bit ugly, but to each their own. At least its an upgrade from the original G1

  • Want2CBetter

I can’t wait to get one. The problem I’m having is that I can’t find the phone anywhere on the Best Buy site. :(

  • GN

its funny how diff people ding the negative comments, and are just as much part, as the positive ones…remember…this is just a forum about gadgets..no one is talking about anyones family

    • GN

and yes….the G2 is still outdated…theres another negative to some…diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing….lol

  • Norm

Welcome to 2009 Tmobile! The OG DROID 1 owns this still. VZW + DROID FTW!!!!

    • Fanboys Will DIE

Christ onna burning cross… so Android fanboys actually segment themselves out to specific carriers? So much for a unified front. If that’s the case, just might as well let Apple win already.

      • anthony

you can find all the specs on cnet.com or just google the specs for the g2 and you can find them all. It’s a really hot phone and for most of us tec head out there with t-mobile this should should hold us over until we get the tmobile version of iphone or something that beats it.

  • debbie barnes

its a cute phone but the specs could be a little better

  • young hov

I will never go back to teen mobile worst service i ever had.. this phone does not compete with the big boys (Evo,iphone4,D2,DX,any galaxy s… htc jus gives tmobile the kiddie phones.. the minimum requirement for android 3.0 gingerbread is a 1ghz processor.. this isnt cuttin it..

    • HabibAKAJohn/Peter/Tom@SprintPOS

1GHz is not a requirement for Android 3.0. I don’t know how many times it has to be said over and over again.. then again for someone that refers to T-Mobile as “teen mobile” will probably never get it. Just ignorant

      • GN

        not the requirement…correct….highly suggested though

      • GN

        or recommended

      • LaShawnda@TeenMobile

Well its lampooned as TeenMobile because they revolve marketing campaigns around the NBA and snoop DOGG, had the Sidekick as their centerpiece product, and have a network that is teen sized compared to the other three grownup networks. Oh but lower prices right? Well again teens can’t afford any of the big three mowing lawns for the summer so they have to go to TEEN MOBILE.

      • Fanboys Will DIE

Hey…. hey…. over here… hey…. LaShawnda…. I just wanted to let you know: its 2010 now. Get up to speed bitch.

      • Drew

They mostly revolve their campaign around “family”. Sorry your carrier doesn’t give a shit about you but to continue… the fastest 3G speeds with HSPA+, Android securely implanted with a host of Android devices including the Galaxy Vibrant and the first HSPA+ compatible device. Knock it off with your lame ass argument about Sidekick’s and of calling it “TeenMobile”. I’m sorry you’re unhappy with Sprint’s service.

      • Versed

Thing is, these same people who say it isn’t dated and are on TMO would be bitching about the cpu being clocked down, the screen only being 3.2 inches. If it was offered by any other carrier.

To be this phone has some pluses and minuses and over all seems decent enough.

      • Want2CBetter

        3.7″ not 3.2″

      • Versed

        I stand corrected.

  • Shawn

You guys knocking the processor is going to be jealous because it’s extremely fast and based on a new chip.

    • GN

not knocking it..im sure its fast.might squeeze bit more battery life in there.(while running a thing or two)…just cant keep up with the 1ghz/512mb ram standards, that are being thrown out there soo daym fast now. Not to mention the 1.3-1.5ghz hitting by the end of the year, and first quarter next year (possible dual core chips, with way less power consumption). Dont forget the ramage upping to the 1gig also by this time….you have to really ask yourself..2 years?..I would personally wait on this G2, unless your really have your heart set on it…

  • Jeremiah

Getting back to the actual topic of this article, why am I not seeing the option to pre-order it from bestbuy.com/mobile? I would go to the store, but the Best Buy locations here don’t carry T-Mobile for some reason.

  • MadSkillz

    Looks better than the G1

  • Tony

In the end, what would you rather have? An 800mhz processor on a phone that connects to HPSA+, or a 1ghz phone that runs on regular 3G?

Personally, I care about being able to connect to a faster network then having 200mhz more processing power.

    • Dwayne chapman

I don’t think it’s an either or situation. I’m sure HSPA+ will work just fine with a 1GHz processor so why build a flagship device without what has kinda became a industry standard for such a device? Also many thousands of people aren’t covered by HSPA+ so they probably wouldn’t mind the 1GHz.

      • Killah Kyle

Bc this 800 mhz phone can outperform the current 1ghz processors and offers better battery life. The only thing that’s part of the industry standard is a lack of knowledge. That’s why in economics the first thing you take into account when selling something is that people are stupid.

  • http://www.bestandroiddeals.com Paul Paulson

Best Buy only does their pre-orders in store for some reason so you’re not going to find anything on the website.

  • wallyson

Did they put T-moblie 3G/4G only frequencies on this thing or will it be AT&T 3G compatible? I know with the G1 it was T-mobile only.

  • Jeff

still by far, the worst keyboard layout of the century.
