Nokia flavored MeeGo videoed?

mobile

What do we have here… it would appear to be a video of the MeeGo mobile operating system with Nokia’s dirty little fingerprints all over it. The video was captured by an astute consumer who was, of all things, taking an online survey. The video covers how the operating system will handle multitasking, social network integration, application purchasing with the Ovi Store, and the multimedia player. Hit the jump to see the goods, we’ve the 90 second clip all queued up for you.

    Will the devices have Audio?

On a serious note, I would use this over WinMo, Crackberry, or Duct Tape OS’

    Watched on my EVO!

This is just like HTC Sense

  • Arthur

Looks impressive, transitioning from one task to another but then again we dont know much about what they are running this on. Doesn’t look too far of a stretch from Maemo which for me isn’t a bad thing since I like Maemo overall.

Too early to tell how this will shape up and compete with the segment leaders but it will be interesting. I believe by year’s end they are going to have MeeGo powered Nokia on the market if I remember correctly.

    looks friggin sweet!!

  • Drew

Looks better than what I saw of 1.0 (this may be the same). I still prefer Maemo. This looks like a cross between Android and iOS. Nonetheless, waiting IMPATIENTLY for this to be ported to my Nokia N900.

This looks awesome! cant wait to see this on a Nokia device! where are all those idiots that claimed Nokia is dead??? I guess they all just STFU after seeing this video. Just remember to tape your ankles up before jumping on the Nokia bandwagon.

Hate to be a downer, but this looks like the retarded result of an drunken fling between WebOS and Android.

Too cluttered on my pc screen means it’s much too cluttered for my phone.

  • ThisGuy

@ Bubba, hello? its called customization….you dont have to have cluttered if you dont want to. I think most people like to have all the apps and notifications on their homescreeen for quick access. But there are also people like you who want to have it look “clean”, im sure you’ll be able customize it how ever you like it.

  • Topher86

This would look completely badass on the N9 [o o]

  • MicroNix

Better than what I thought it would be being Nokia. They just might have something when it is final. But really, was that someone *purchasing* Adobe Reader for $10?? Fail! LOL

  • Tom

I would actually use this and buy this if nokia put is stateside, and if it was on verizon

    • Andre

For the sake of your own sanity, don’t count on this ever ending up on a CDMA carrier and don’t expect to like it even if it does.
They’ll probably try to do to this OS what At&t did the E71x….. That is, utterly f*** it up

  • PAPINYC

Verizon would find a way to cripple the OS with one of their ROMs; don’t buy anymore crippled phones.

    • destardi

I haven’t heard that in over a year; FYI – Verizon doesn’t do that with Android.

  • derliebewolf

I do like it, maybe even more than the look of WP7 and I bet it can be customized, right?

Let’s only hope that things like “Adobe Reader LE 2.5″ will not be on OVI Store for as much as 9,95 USD as shwn above…

If you have a Maemo 5 device, there’s a clickable preview of life with Meego available in the developer repositories.

  • hmmm

Youtube click now says… “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Nokia Corporation.”
