Walmart cuts iPhone 3GS down to $97

Effective as of Tuesday, Walmart has announced that it will be cutting the 2-year contract price of the Apple iPhone 3GS to $97. Walmart would have you believe that the drop in price is nothing more than it making good on its “commitment to always lead on price”, but it’s not as if we don’t know exactly what’s going on. To us the question still remains: Will the iPhone 3GS pick up where the soon-to-be-discontinued iPhone 3G is going to leave off, or does Steve Jobs have “one more thing” up the sleeve of his St. Croix mock turtleneck?

    OH, Is this for certain?
“The iPhone 3G device is still listed at the Online Store however the “select” option, which is used to make the purchase, has been removed. This leaves only the iPhone 3GS as available iPhones for sale.”
I got this info form iphoneincanada.ca.
Before you opt to purchase an iPhone 3GS, getting yourself astonished by iPhone 4G.

don’t believe the hype. walmart stores will never know when they are getting a new shipment of phones, they can only sale what is currently in stock.

also, the early upgrade price at walmart for the 3gs will still be $200 more at $397. i would like to challenge anyone to find more than 3 stores who will tell you different prices for the early upgrade price. most just do not know or will not research to find out. i have contacted their horrible ecustomer service after this price drop was launched and have yet to heard from them about early upgrade pricing.

just a ploy to get people in stores.
