Rather than jump into the fray with a smartphone announcement, HTC decided to focus its efforts on midrange phones and the Vive at Mobile World Congress 2016. This paid off handsomely in the eyes of our own Chris Smith, who was quick to call the HTC/Valve hardware collaboration his favorite VR experience to date.
But just because the Vive has been dominating the headlines, it doesn’t mean that HTC isn’t hard at work on its followup to the One M9. At least, we’re pretty sure that’s what’s going on in an email we got on Wednesday.

If you follow any of HTC’s multiple social media accounts, you probably saw the image at the top of this post at some point today. It’s the same image that appeared in an email HTC sent out to members of the press, but the only other information in the email was a line of text telling us to “stay tuned for more.”
No dates, no details, no renders. Just that image.
Now, logic would dictate that the image is hinting at the HTC One M10, a sequel to last year’s One M9. Here’s what it might look like, according to notorious mobile leaker, Evan Blass:

That’s really all we know. Here’s the same image from the top of the post with some alternate text, courtesy of HTC Middle East & Africa:

We’ll be keeping an eye out for an actual announcement in the coming days.
