Android fans, you only have two weeks left to wait before the most stunning smartphones that have ever been built finally hit store shelves. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were only announced a few short weeks ago, but it feels like we’ve been waiting for years thanks to months of unending leaks and rumors that painted a nearly complete picture of both new smartphones long before they were officially unveiled. Of course, even with all those leaks, the end result still blew us away thanks to Samsung’s new design, highlighted by the practically bezel-less Infinity Display.
With just two weeks to go before the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ hit store shelves, Samsung has begun airing its first new TV commercial that focuses on the S8 duo. The execution is a bit odd, but it certainly accomplishes its goal and you can watch it right here.
The concept of the ad is pretty cool. It begins with an old smartphone design — you know, like the one Apple still uses — and the Galaxy S8 breaks out of it piece by piece. The animation itself is a bit elementary, like something you might see an amateur graphic designer put together. Of course, the Galaxy S8 is such a stunning smartphone that it essentially sells itself.
Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are currently available for pre-order from all major wireless carriers at varying prices, and pre-orders ship with a free next-generation Gear VR headset and wireless controller. Big box retailers like Best Buy and Sam’s Club have deals of their own to sweeten the pot, not that it needed much sweetening.
The new phones will be sold in stores beginning on April 21st. Until then, enjoy the first Galaxy S8 commercial:
