The iPhone 8 is going to feature the radical redesign that Apple fans had been hoping the iPhone 7 would receive, and a new report indicates that Samsung is preparing a similar move for the Galaxy S8. And guess what: The Galaxy S8 that’s due in the first quarter of the year is already expected to copy the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 8 in a number of key areas.

According to ETNews, Samsung is preparing a massive redesign of the Galaxy S8, and the main changes are coming to the front of the handset. The device is reportedly getting a new screen, complete with brand new features. If you’re familiar with iPhone 8 rumors you probably can guess what these new features are.
Samsung is looking to deliver features and designs that were not available before. According to the report, the company will kill the home button on the new Galaxy phone and integrate it into the display.
The home button’s fingerprint sensor will not go away and will be found under the OLED screen.
The elimination of the physical button would let Samsung “fill” the front side of the phone with an edge-to-edge display that will not have any bezels. The handset is still expected to feature a dual-curved display just like earlier Galaxy phones, but the top and bottom bezels are reportedly going away as well.
If any of that sounds familiar, it’s because Apple is also rumored to ditch the physical home button of the iPhone next year and place its TouchID fingerprint scanner under the screen of the handset. ETNews also mentions that Apple will launch a full-screen iPhone next year that lacks a home button, quoting an earlier New York Times report. Apple’s iPhone 8 is also tipped to feature an OLED screen that will likely be manufactured by Samsung.
Furthermore, ETNews says the screen resolution of the Galaxy S8 is also going to be improved, and pictures and videos are tipped to look clearer and have some sort of 3D effect.
Some earlier rumors have said that the phone is getting a 4K display that would better support VR features. Other reports also indicated that Samsung might remove the headphone jack in the Galaxy S8 and equip it with a dual camera. Now where have we seen those changes before?
