The Galaxy S7 is a hit for Samsung, and the company might launch a new flagship sooner than anticipated if some reports are to be believed. The Galaxy Note 6 might be unveiled early this summer, months ahead of its expected September launch. And the first rumors detailing some of its specs are already here.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Note 6 will receive the same IP68 dust and water resistance certification as the Galaxy S7 family. That’s hardly surprising, considering that Samsung would want to offer the same high-end features to Galaxy Note fans. But it’s the first time Samsung’s beloved phablet will get the certification.

Furthermore, GalaxyClub picked up a shipping manifest from Indian site Zauba that says Samsung just imported “iris cams” in India for R&D activities connected to Samsung Mobile. There’s no specification of the upcoming phablet. But it’s likely that Samsung’s looking to add iris scanners to high-end devices first, such as the Galaxy Note 6, rather than mid-rangers.

Assuming this assessment is accurate, this would be the first time a Galaxy device would feature an iris scanning unlock mechanism. That’s a kind of feature you don’t see on iPhone yet, but it’s already available on some Windows 10 machines.

Other Galaxy Note 6 specs reportedly include a 5.8-inch display and 6GB of RAM.
