ShoZu, creator of the extremely popular smartphone application bearing its name, has just announced a public beta of a new desktop application. For those who have not sampled the ShoZu mobile application / service before, it essentially provides users with a single portal through with media can be uploaded to a variety of sharing sites. It also features zero-click sharing whereby media can be captured and automatically uploaded in the background without any user intervention. A few integration issues on various devices have plagued the app in the past, but recent versions reportedly play a bit nicer with handsets in general. ShoZu’s freshman desktop offering is compatible with Windows and Mac computers and is as user-friendly as they come. How user friendly? We’re talking drag and drop here, so simple that your grandmother could probably handle it. ShoZu software makes it simple to name, tag and enter descriptions prior to upload as well. Other nice touches include a CC feature that makes uploading to multiple destinations just as effortless as a single destination. In terms of supported services there are over 30 including Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, YouTube, MySpace, Blogger, TypePad and more. As many content sharing services as people subscribe to these days, apps like ShoZu’s desktop solution are becoming more and more of a necessity.
