March might be the month of the Nintendo Switch, but if you can’t afford a new console or simply have no interest in the new Zelda game, you can just download Sony’s free Instant Game Collection games instead. As always, there are six free games for PS Plus subscribers to download on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.
Disc Jam is the star of the show this month — a competitive multiplayer game for the PS4 that has the potential to be the next Rocket League. It’s joined by Tearaway Unfolded, which is an excellent remaster of an excellent PS Vita game that not nearly enough people played on either console.
PS3 owners will be able to snag 2D fighting game/visual novel hybrid Under Night In-Birth as well as cult classic third-person shooter Earth Defense Force 2025, while Vita owners can pick up the adventure game Lumo (which also works on PS4) and acclaimed action-adventure title Severed.
- Disc Jam | PS4
- Tearaway Unfolded | PS4
- Under Night In-Birth | PS3
- Earth Defense Force 2025 | PS3
- Lumo | PS Vita (Cross Buy on PS4)
- Severed | PS Vita
All six of the games listed above will be free to download starting on Tuesday, March 7th. Having played an hour or so of the Disc Jam beta, I can safely say that it will be one of my most played games this month, even with the Switch launching over the weekend. If you have the space on your hard drive, get Disc Jam this month. If you don’t, try to make some room, because this could be a special game.
