Look, we have some bad news. If you were hoping to get your hands on a Super NES Classic Edition console ahead of Christmas for yourself or a nostalgic gamer in your life, the odds of finding one in stores are painfully close to zero. Everywhere is sold out, and new shipments are few and far between right now. The only saving grace is that if you really want one, there’s still a way to get Nintendo’s newest retro console long before Christmas arrives. In fact, you can have one in your hands two days from now.
A number of third-party Amazon sellers have Super NES Classic consoles in stock right now with free Prime shipping. The caveat, of course, is that you’ll have to pay a premium over retail. Prices are much lower than original NES Classic prices were ahead of the holidays last year, though.
Here’s how to get one: go to the Super NES Classic Edition page on Amazon’s website and click the “See All Buying Options” button. Then check the box next to “Prime” in the column on the left. You’ll then drill down to a list of all sellers that have the Super NES Classic Edition available with Prime shipping. Be sure to check that seller has good ratings and definitely don’t buy from a store labeled “Just Launched.”
Also, you’ll see in the “Delivery” column whether or not the SNES Classic is actually in stock, and you’ll see the date new orders will be delivered. At the time of this writing there were half a dozen stores with prices under $135 and free two-day Prime shipping. That leaves you plenty of time to get your hands on a Super NES Classic before Christmas.
Here are some details about the console from the product page:
- The Super NES Classic Edition system has the original look and feel of the ’90s home console, only smaller. Plus, this one comes fully loaded with 21 games!

- The Super NES Classic Edition is compatible with the Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro accessories. Just plug it in and play
- From your first ride on Yoshi to the final heart-pounding escape from Planet Zebes, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System is pure 16-bit retro gaming perfection.
