Amazon has been drip-feeding NES Classic Edition stock into the market for the past couple of days, but unless you’re an
So when’s the next opportunity to grab the hottest gift of the 2016 holidays?
We’ve already written about this more than once this month, but on Friday, Best Buy officially announced that it will have NES Classic Edition consoles “available in more than 1,000 Big Box stores across the United States” on December 20th. You’ll have to go to an actual store, because they won’t be on BestBuy.com.
“The NES Classic Edition will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis,” the retailer explains on its website. “Just like on Black Friday, our stores will have a ticketing process for customers waiting in line. We will only pass out as many tickets as we have consoles available, and we’ll have a limit of one per customer.”
Along with the NES Classic Edition consoles, Best Buy also says that it will have limited quantities of accessories in stock as well. Best Buy specifically mentions extra controllers, but there might also be cases and extension cords as well. If you want to find out, you can try calling your local Best Buy ahead of time.
While this NES Classic Edition situation has been a nightmare for consumers, but having sold nearly 200,000 of these nostalgia boxes in a month, I’m going to assume that Nintendo isn’t complaining.
