A few days ago, Apple gave Outside Online’s Jakob Schiller an iPhone 7 Plus and told him to have at it. After a few days of using the iPhone 7 Plus in a variety of outdoor environments, Schiller’s praise for Apple’s flagship iPhone was unequivocal, calling it the best new adventure camera of the year.

“To review the camera in the new iPhone 7 Plus,” Schiller writes, “I chased Outside editors up rivers, down dusty singletrack, through the woods, and into classic New Mexican burrito joints.”
“Over four days of in-the-field testing,” Schiller continued, “I’ve found it to be the best small, lightweight camera you can get for the money, ideal for shooting outdoor adventures when you don’t want to lug around pounds of heavy equipment.”
Indeed, if there was one common thread among all of the early iPhone 7 reviews that hit the web yesterday, it’s that the iPhone 7 Plus’ camera is absolutely jaw-dropping and best-in-class.
