Apple (AAPL) has just seeded the fourth beta version of the company’s upcoming iOS 6 operating system for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices. Apple is expected to announce a new iPhone and possibly a new smaller iPad alongside an updated iPad, iPod touch, and iPod nano all running this new software in the second week of September. iOS 6 beta 4 is available immediately to developers as an over-the-air update, and Apple’s developer website should be updated shortly with the new builds.

iOS 6 will launch as a free update to iOS devices with over 200 new features including a brand new Maps application with Apple-designed maps including 3D, new Siri features like the ability to search for movies, make reservations, and get sports scores and information, along with integrated Facebook support, a redesigned phone, updated Mail app and new iCloud features like Shared Photo Streams and Lost Mode on Find My iPhone. The iOS 6 beta 4 change log is available here.
