If there’s one official Pokemon Go accessory that some fans want most, that must be the Pokemon Go Plus wearable device that lets you perform various game actions without using the smartphone. The device costs $34.99, a more than reasonable price for a dedicated “smartwatch” that only handles Pokemon Go chores. The gadget was initially supposed to launch in late July, but that’s not the case anymore.

DON’T MISS: Apple’s iPhone 7 finally gets a release date

The watch will only operate if connected to an iPhone or Android device via Bluetooth. Pokemon Go also needs to be installed on the smartphone for the Pokemon Go Plus to work. Once connected, the device will notify the wearer every time a Pokemon is within range. The Pokemon Go Plus can be used to catch creatures this way. But it can also be used to get Pokeballs at Pokestops, and other items.

That sounds exciting, but Pokemon Go fans will now have to wait until September to get their hands on the device. Nintendo made the announcement on Twitter, without providing any other details about the device.

“The #PokemonGO Plus accessory will arrive in Sept. instead of the originally expected end of July. Thanks for your patience, Trainers!” Nintendo UK said as you can see below.

The company did not provide a specific launch date at this time. It’s unclear at this time what caused the delay, and we have no idea when preorders are supposed to start if there will be any.
