But Samsung just came out with a microSD card that’s able to deliver even more storage for your Galaxy S7 or any other smartphone that supports expandable memory: a 256GB EVO Plus card that offers the highest capacity in its class.

Using Samsung’s V-NAND technology, the memory card offers fast read and write speeds, reaching 95MB/s and 90MB/s, respectively – the card is included in the UHS-1, Class 10 speed class. That’s slightly faster than SanDisk’s solution, which does read 90MB/s, while write speeds are lower than that.
The card can hold up to 12 hours of 4K UHD video, 33 hours of Full HD video or 46 hours of HD video before requiring replacement. Samsung says that 256GB of storage is also good for up to 55,200 photos or 23,500 MP3 songs.
The card comes with a limited 10-year warranty and provides “advanced protection, capacity, and performance with long-term reliability,” according to Samsung. The card is waterproof, temperature proof, X-Ray-proof and magnet-proof.
The card will be available in the USA, Europe and China this June, with an MSRP of $249.99. Comparatively, the 200GB microSD card from SanDisk sells for just $79 on Amazon, so you can probably expect Samsung’s newest microSD to be even more affordable than its MSPR once it launches.
