Happy Apple Watch launch day, Apple fans! As we discussed in the most recent episode of our podcast, the Apple Watch release is unique in a number of ways. Beyond the fact that most people who want a Watch aren’t going to get one today, it’s interesting that hardcore Apple fans are perhaps more excited about today’s launch than even a new iPhone, while typical consumers don’t really seem to care all that much. That should change over time, of course, as Watches begin to proliferate and as Apple kicks its massive marketing and advertising push into high gear.
