Three things are certain in life: Death, taxes and unhappy Sprint customers. Consumer Reports has just come out with its latest survey of customer satisfaction in the wireless industry and has found that Sprint once again ranks dead last behind competitors AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.
“The biggest black eye of our survey is reserved for Sprint, which ranks dead last with a very poor score for value, a poor score on data service, and middling results for voice and text,” writes Consumer Reports. “Sprint was understandably disappointed in our survey results, and noted that in the last few months, the company has made ‘dramatic changes in the two areas that matter most to customers — price and network.’ Sprint’s representative highlighted the company’s new pricing plans, and said there had been improvements in voice and data quality.”
It’s true that Sprint has definitely become much more aggressive in terms of pricing over the past couple months, especially after the company’s decision to ditch its ill-fated “Framily” plan campaign in favor of new family plans that really do offer subscribers solid value compared to the competition.
That said, when the best score you get on a massive survey of wireless customers is for “middling” voice and text services, you’ve got problems bigger than prices to worry about.
