Is this simple spot the best MacBook commercial Apple has ever made?

There’s no doubt about it, the MacBook Air is one of Apple’s most iconic products, a very successful addition to the company’s laptop line. To further remind users how popular its ultra-slim laptop is, Apple on Monday released a terrific new ad that focuses entirely on the Air.

Called “Stickers,” the 30-second clip only shows the lid of the laptop alongside a vast collection of stickers applied on it, such as the one in the image above, that are supposed to show the love of Air owners for their chosen computing machine.

The ad is short and simple, but it’s also very fun and it focuses on people’s love of the Air rather than on computing — after all, people already know about PC functionality, so this ad tackles things from a different, and perhaps smarter angle.

Apple has already refreshed its MacBook Air line earlier this year, replacing the processor with a new one that’s faster and more energy-efficient, and slashing prices across the board by $100.

However, the company is also rumored to follow this mild 2014 Air update with a new line of Air laptops this year, that will bring additional changes, including some design modifications. It’s not clear when the new notebooks will be launched though, although they may be available around OS X Yosemite’s release.

Apple is reportedly also working on a different kind of MacBook Air model, a brand new 12-inch device that will pack a Retina display. The latest rumor about it suggests Apple may have to postpone the launch of the Retina MacBook Air to 2015, as it’s facing an Intel-related chip shortage for the new device.
