3 hrs talk time? U got a big TYPO!

  • Anonymous

3 hours of talk time vs iPhone 4S 8 hours?

That can’t be right, can it?

    • http://twitter.com/Glansburgs Steven Glansburg

I believe it.  Android battery life is laughable.

      • fillyo

I’ll change my battery, meanwhile, I will have a far superior phone.

      • Anonymous

Please tell everyone in what ways this phone is superior.

      • fillyo

        Have you ever used one?

      • Guest

You enjoy buying, carrying, and and constantly having to recharge 3-5 separate batteries???

      • Betelgeuse Orion

        you believe wrong

“Battery: The battery found in HTC Sensation 4G is Li-Ion 1520 mAh battery whereas Galaxy S2 features Li-Ion 1650 mAh. HTC Sensation 4G will give stand by time up to 350 h and talk time up to 8 h 20 min while Galaxy S2 has a talk time of 9 h and 576 h of standby time.”

prove it in real life under real conditions.

      • Hunter Smith

I’ve been using this phone since Thursday (yes the AT&T version) and it’s actually got pretty great battery life..I got about 10-12 hours through the day with medium to heavy usage..so..it’s laughable when I realize that my day is almost over (I wake up anywhere from 8am-10am and don’t get home till about 9pm) and I haven’t had to recharge it yet..

      It’s Android.

      • Anonymous

That’s what most people prefer nowadays.

    • dwinsmith

That’s probably more realistic than the figure they publish.

Yea, there it is! SGsII, the “Real Roxanne!” Peace to iP4s all late to the spec party. Sayin…

    • http://twitter.com/QU477R0 QU477R0

All late to the spec party? These phones are launching within a month of each other and the main difference is screen size. 14.4 vs 21.1 Mbps won’t make a remarkable difference in real world usage.

    • Bullet Tooth Tony

Wow…. you just dropped a Roxanne Wars reference…. you’ve got a lot of faith to think that there’s many people on here old enough to know UTFO, Roxanne and The Real Roxanne… I get it… but, I lived thru it.  I find this post hilarious… now excuse me, I need to go practice the new & improved 2011 version of the Ed Lover Dance.. ;-)

  • SomeGuest

Yea, that talk time is pretty crappy.  Cell phones are going down the crapper it seems – in general.  I mean…  We go from being able to talk non-stop all day to not being able to hold 3 healthy conversations without teh phone dying on us?

    • Anonymous

It’s not that cell phones are going down the crapper, it’s that battery tech needs to be improved. Cell phone technology keeps improving, but the battery technology can’t keep up.

While I am a big Apple fan, and I was disappointed with the 4S news, the S II is not and will not be better than the 4S, don’t kid yourself Android fanboys.  I’d rather have a smaller, high resolution display than a large low res one.  The Prime, the Optimus HD, those are 4S competitors.  This, its old hat.

    • fillyo

Oh yeah Adam, what are you going to do on that dinky screen, you idiot.  Hang on to what you got, which isn’t much

      • http://twitter.com/Glansburgs Steven Glansburg

go to ebay (dot) com and look at the main page and see what they are offering for used phones.  Iphone 3GS at 229, while the Evo 3D and Thunderbolt are both at 200 each.  The 3GS is a 3 year old phone and it’s still worth more than android phones that came out this summer.

      • Carmen

2 years and a few months

      • Anonymous

That’s because there are a lot of options in terms of Android phones.  More variety and competition means lower prices.  Very simple.   Moreover, Android phones advance at a blistering pace, thus they depreciate quicker.

And for the morons who choose  a 3GS over a Evo 3D for a comparable price are dolts; they should be stripped of their citizenship and flung to the nearest black hole where their stupidity would be justifiably consumed.

      • Anonymous

So you’re criticizing a screen that has a higher resolution and higher ppi? Okay,,,

      • fillyo

Yes, its 3.5 inches, anyone can make a high resolution 3.5 inch screen.  Apple is struggling to do better, hence no iphone 5.  Again, what can you do on a 3.5 inch screen.

      • Anonymous

@fillyo Anyone can eh? So why is Samsung’s screen at 4.5″ still a lower res than the iPhone at 3.5″ a YEAR AND A HALF later? Take a look at what you’re saying and see how silly it is.

      • fillyo

Again….what are you going to do on a 3.5 inch screen????? What are you doing with that resolution?  I will ask again, what are you doing on that little screen?

      • Ryan

fillyo- you are retarded. To answer your question: Facebook, email, web browsing, take photos, text, play various games, search businesses around me, the list goes on. What a dumb ass question “what can u do on 3.5″ screen?” I can do everything on it…hey how’s your buggy android phone? And second rate marketplace?

      • Anonymous

Well, I guess my daughter does that on her droid Eris with the same size screen, so you are correct.  Geez.. that phone is over two years old. Oh well.. who needs a bigger screen.

      • dwinsmith

The iPhone happens to be the perfect size for most people since its easy to hold and the high resolution makes everything easier to read since things are super crisp.

    • Anonymous

Keep clinging to that high res screen stat.. I would too if I had a new phone release with January’s stats.

Granted, the i*hone 4s will be a solid phone, but no i*hone 5?  **HUGE** let down. I’m not an *pple fan, but even I expected more.

Face it.. *pple is no longer the innovation powerhouse it once was. I see now why they choose to fight there battles in court versus the open market.

Now, bring on ICS and the next Nexus!!

      • Anonymous

        >too if I had a new phone release with January’s stats.
There were dual core, 64GB, 8MP, 1080p phones with image stabilization Android phones in January? Then the S2 must be really far behind…

        >*pple is no longer the innovation powerhouse it once was.
Did anyone say this when they released the 3GS? Or the iPad the following year?

I can’t wait for the innovations come for Android because there haven’t been any yet.

P.S.: I will keep clinging to that screen because that is how you interact with touch devices and it makes fonts on the iPhone as clear as print.

    • Drybones5

Yet Engadget says the GS II’s screen is possibly the best they’ve ever seen on any phone yet, while also having less resolution than an iPhone.  So how is the Prime and the GS III gonna be when the resolution is higher than an iPhone 4S while also bigger than it with similar pixel density.

The GS II beats the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S according to Engadget’s claims, who we all know enjoy Apple very much.  The iPhone 4S is a 7month old phone releasing next week.

    Galaxy S2 is old hat.

    • fillyo

It’s not as old hat as the 16 month old refreshed Iphone 4. All the sheep are suckers.

      • MrMan

as if the S2 is not a refresh of the S…  pot, meet kettle.

      • fillyo

The S2, which I do not own, is a significant upgrade from the original S, douchebag.

The incompetence of this web site never ceases to amaze me.

    • Anonymous

only 3 days late with the news…. haha

  • Carmen

There’s my HSPA+. Learn something Apple.

  • Anonymous

beware samsung…apple will try to patent the letter S!!!

  • Guest

Let’s see iSheep…iPhone 4s has 3.5″ screen, Galaxy 4.3″. iPhone HSPA+ 14.4 Mbps, Galaxy 42 Mbps. iPhone retina display on tiny screen, Galaxy Super Amoled Plus on a screen you can actually see. iPhone users still can’t change their own batteries, have to send it back to Apple and wait two weeks. Yeah, I won’t be replacing my iPhone 3G with another iPhone. Time to make the switch. Bahhhhh, bahhhh.

And by now, you mean as of Sunday.

    This>iPhone 4s

    • Anonymous

Dude, the original Android device is > 4S.  Heck, Motorola RAZR is > 4S.

    • Anonymous

well not when it comes to battery life it don’t

“Its 1,650 mAh battery is rated for up to 3 hours of talk-time or 250 hours of standby”
More juice than iPhone 4 and 4S, yet worse battery life.

      • Drybones5

Those are false hours.  They don’t match up with anyone else’s ratings. Why don’t you read the Engadget review of it first.

      • Anonymous

Because I avoid Engadget like the plague. The comment section is much more heated than BGR. Anyway shouldn’t be a surprise BGR has it wrong, they seem to make a few mistakes.

  • Jmaxku

Three hours of talk time is complete crap…

    journalism on BGR’s part.

  • Anonymous

Best phone on at&t at the moment IMHO

  • Anonymous

    3Hrs talk time? mistake?

    • Drybones5

Yeah.  I was gonna contact and send a complain in for inaccurate images and information, but I couldn’t find where to send an email to AT&T, the biggest telecommunication company in the world :|

  • Joeabb

Am I missing something? Been available since Sunday!!
I had the international version and sold it to get AT&T’s. As a long time iPhone user, the GSII along w the Google App experience is the best overall device until the Nexus Prime is released.

  • Blue Waffle

Anyone know where I can find a Powermat for my Samsung x427?

  • dwinsmith

I like it, but I think I’m going with the 4S since I need an all-day phone with good email support which seems to be lacking from most Android phones other than Moto. That and I hate how cheap Samaung products look and feel.

  • Kolbe11

“NOT AVAILABLE” is more like it… Don’t bother trying to buy a Galaxy S II right now as they are completely sold out for AT&T by phone, internet and store nationwide.
