AT&T HTC Inspire 4G Gingerbread update now available

mobile

HTC began pushing out the Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) update to the AT&T HTC Inspire 4G on Monday. Customers will receive notifications to update over-the-air or they can manually initiate the installation process by navigating to Home > Menu > Settings > AT&T Software Update > HTC Wi-Fi software update > Check now. The patch also includes an updated Sense application tray, new FriendStream features, fixes for minor bugs and an updated Quick Settings menu in the notifications shade. HTC says Inspire 4G users should notice an improved media experience and better power management as well.

So glad I got rid of that battery killer and got an Atrix. Gingerbread and a better android.

  • Grungee

How long we gotta wait for the Captivate to get Gingerbread? Come on AT&T, get it together.

    • Chachtastic1

Lmao! I love the comments so far. Looks like my avatar is exactly how these crapdroid owners feel about their phones. No one wants a shitty phone with a fragmented os. Android will be dead in two years.  true story™©®

I just paid $ 23.86 for an iPhone and my girlfriend loves her Dell laptop that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 42 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 665 which only cost me $ 62,81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, GrabPenny.com

Called to get the update pushed, since my phone claims to be up-to-date and I have to check back in 12 hours… The update did come out today, but at&t is rolling it out so the system can handle all the downloads and is spacing the timing out…

    • Jaf234

Did AT&T push it to your phone?  I called them yesterday and they told me I had to call HTC.

Anyone waiting on a CARRIER, especially AT&T to release an update, should have already gone to XDA, Modaco or other tech site to download a bloat free version.  Carriers always drag their heels.  It’s not in their interest to push updates.  “Bad” user experiences will result in the “typical” user to be pushed into a new phone by the store drones.  “Oh, yeah, your current phone is getting almost a year old.  Yeah, that software had some issues, but, if you upgrade now, we’ll wave the upgrade fee.  This new xxxx phone has a faster processor more wi-fi’s and gb’s.  We’ll just extend your contract”.  THAT is why they wait and wait on firmware updates.  That, and they want to make sure their bloat doesn’t screw it up to the point it won’t work.

Im also updating, I really hope this fixes that random lag I get 3 times a week for a couple of minutes each time! I don’t think I should have updated with 30 % battery left lol.

Sad that you have to wait for your carrier to release a software update on your phone. Or if you’re going to get it at all. It’s a good thing android is not a closed os…. o wait

Let me guess, you’d rather be tied to your computer for an OS update right? Oh and let me also ask you this butboy15, if waiting for an OTA update is an inefficient way of upgrading an OS then why has your all knowing master Steve Jobs saw fit to enable OTA updates in IOS 5?

    Hmm, I still cannot update…

  • Crazypgb13

    • Lyonsv

Same here. Update is NOT GOOD. My phone has so many issues now: battery dies quick, names gone from text messages it just shows the numbers, incoming call announces # instead of name. I’m not happy with the upgrade

  • sniffler
