Nokia’s N9 seen in brief teaser video

Nokia’s N9 handset has made a brief cameo via a one-minute, official-looking video clip. What do we learn from said video? Not a heck of a lot. What we do see is a 12-megapixel camera complete with Carl Zeiss optics flash before our eyes, and the iconography seen suggests that the device will be a Symbian offering complete with the Anna software update. The rumor mill states the N9 will be a pentaband GSM handset that could make an appearance stateside, although… since Nokia is going all-in with Windows Phone, we’re not sure what the fate of this handset is.      Not much of a teaser.  Wouldn’t you want to show at least a SNIPPET of the phone’s capabilities?  Reminds me of those early Palm Pre ads that left you asking, “WTF??”

    Way to keep your fingers on the pulse of information BGR… Uhmm, this was reported by nearly EVERYONE yesterday so, not only are you behind, you don’t even have your facts correct. It’s not Symbian, it’s freakin’ MeeGo. What a bunch of clueless wonders…

    That’s not Symbian Anna… If you look at the upper bar : it confirms it’s not Anna, Certainly Meego or Symbian Belle! You can look also at the four columns of icons, that proves a higher resolution screen, & also suggests Meego… Finally you have the multitasking that is different from what you can see on Symbian & for which we heard nothing about an overhaul on future versions!

    For the camera it comes with Auto Focus and it’s the same as the N8′s!

    That is not Symbian Anna. If you have seen videos of it demoed on the E6 and X7 the OS the N9 is running is really different, the icons are just of the same design.
