Fourth generation iPod Touch case images leak?

It looks like images of the fourth generation iPod Touch have been spotted on the internet, thanks in part to an accessories manufacturer. Hardmac.com has images of what looks to be a new iPT complete with an updated camera and LED flash. While the front of the device looks the same, and is in all likelihood Photoshoped, the back of the device is beveled like the current iPod Touch and has the camera/flash located in the upper left hand corner of the device (like the iPhone). The black plastic patch through which the Wi-Fi antenna signal used to escape is also absent (insert attenuation joke here). Doesn’t seem consistent with apples unibody, flat-top-and-bottom, non-rounded edges look they’ve been gravitating towards… but it doesn’t look too far out there. Have a look at the images and let us know what you think.

      Definitely shopped…. The white dot indicating that the homepage is selected should not be on the left side because that would indicate that spotlight search is in use. Also the time is 9:42 so it’s based off of a stock Apple image.

      I would say using headphones would give you the best results when listening to music.

    So with smartphones (Android, iOS, etc) all being able to hold music in Gbs and Gbs of storage, why do I need an Ipod touch?

      If you use multiples of 8 you can also say that they hold GBs and GBs of data.

        Nicely done. One of the things that I find upsetting is when companies advertise their download speeds, upload speeds, and storage space in bits instead of bytes!

      Since when did absolutely everybody own a smartphone? Besides, it isn’t for people with smartphones, it’s for the kids who’s parents can’t afford everyone under the roof to have a data plan.

    Its the apps stupid! I have an Evo 4g and was so disappointed with the Android Market offerings on games. Looks like a high school programing student made 90% of their games compared with the App Store. I just hope its because the Android Market hasn’t been around as much as Apples and this is the growing stage for the market. Having a fragmented OS is one thing but the whole non standard hardware features might not get us some high quality games that sadly only the App Store has.

    Btw I hope this crap isn’t the next Touch since it is a huge step backward for Apple after releasing the iPhone 4. Keep that design for the Touch, we didn’t buy a Touch to make phone calls anyways Apple.

    Eric Schmidt said that Apple uses Google products in Apple devices. I’m starting to wonder if he meant that Android might show up on an Apple device soon, such as this iTouch. Anyone else get the same thoughts?

      Yeah, using another company’s OS on a shipping product is Apple’s MO.

      For a change, I would sound like an Apple fanboy. I think Eric meant Apple allows Google apps on Apple devices e.g. Google Maps etc. Apple would never base on any non Apple product, and that is why they are more expensive than open source products. Apple users are willing to pay the extra money because they feel safe with something that is Apple only. Yes I know this safety is an illusion as Apple can have viruses, and it can get hacked too.

    Pictures leaked around this time last year about the ipod touch 3RD GENERATION,but guess what? the ipod didnt get released with a camera, i know that this year, theres no way that they wouldnt release it but the picture aint cutting it for me

    Q3 2010 – New Ipod Touch featuring a 3.2mp rear-facing still/video camera, in 32/64/128gb capacities.

    Q3 2010 – New 1.7 inch touch-screen iPod Shuffle in 2/4/8gb capacities.

    Q3 2010 – Revised iPod Nano essentially the same as today’s but in 8/16/32gb capacities.

    Q1 2011 – Revised iPhone with a new antenna system and composite back instead of glass.

    Q2 2011 – Revised iPad featuring front-facing web camera, available 128gb capacity (only on 9’7inch), new 7 inch version, and all with 3g.

    We’ll See Soon Enough…
