HTC Vision, full-QWERTY Android device, pictured

HTC Vision

Croatian blog njuskalo.hr has an image of what appears to be the HTC Vision; possibly one of HTC’s first high-end, full-QWERTY Android offerings. Details on the device are unconfirmed and extremely scarce, however njuskalo.hr sources indicate that the device has a 3.7″ touch-screen, 1 GHz processor and Android 2.1. From the image we can see a full-QWERTY slide-out keyboard (reminiscent of the Touch Pro 2), optical trackpad, and the units apparent use of a SIM card. We certainly could use more high-quality, full-QWERTY, Android offerings…so we hope this one makes its way out of the lab and onto the production line.

HTC, please learn from LG and Samsung and add a DEDICATED NUMBER ROW ON YOUR QWERTYS!

    • Celz

HTC is the master of dedicated number rows!! I dont know what this phone is… I hope its a prototype..

Dude this phone is disgusting. It makes me angry having to look at it.

And to Andrew (person who wrote this) I recommend you remove that because that keyboard is nothing compared to the Touch Pro2. Reminds me more of the Touch Pro if you ask me, but no one’s asking.

        Doesn’t look nice at all.

The only company HTC needs to learn from is themselves. Their Touch Pro 2 keyboard is the best keyboard on any mobile device. They just need to use it on more of their devices!

it doesn’t look like it slides. it looks like the keyboard flips out from underneath. no numbers on the keyboard.

I thought it was gonna be tp2 but with android and better processor…

Doesnt look high end to me.

Looks like crap. Definitely headed to tmobile.

Or AT&T. They get crap Androids also. I gave up on waiting for AT&T to get good Android handsets and went to Verizon for the Moto Droid.

After using a G1 for the past year and a half, I don’t really care what the phone looks like. As long as it has a snapdragon and a physical keyboard, and is on T-Mobile, I’ll be thrilled.

  • Mitch Cumstein

that keyboard would suck compared to a TouchPro2. you need the dedicated number keys and all of the secondary symbol keys you get with a 5 row layout. come on, HTC, bring the good stuff.

Still waiting on the EVO review……

  • Jonathan:Brazil!

I also am still waiting for a very good android phone to come to T-Mobile, but this phone doesn’t seem to bad. It’s sure better than the other Android phones T-Mobile has right now. I personally have a MyTouch 3G and i love it, but this phone doesn’t seem like a bad choice to upgrade to. However, thats just my opinion.

Whats the point of having a hardware keyboard if you still have to jump through hoops to type a number?

Who comes with with these shitty design decisions?

    • Topher86

I understand the frustration of not having a dedicated number row…but really..pressing ALT is considered jumping through hoops?

  • Chris

    Yawn… Android…

  • Killah Kyle

They should know by now we want that 5th row of keys. That design… It obviously shows the screen barely slides up, they could’ve fit an extra row in there.

  • what what!!!

i want this phone it look hot to death hahaha

  • Tristan

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hope this is not the HTC Vision rumored to be coming to T-mobile…

also…STOP WITH THE SENSE UI ON EVERYTHING

I *HOPE* this is not the Sidekick Twist/Project Emerald that has been rumored. A dedicated number row key is a MUST if it is to carry the “Sidekick” name!!

  • Ryan

Note to HTC: just make a TouchPro2 with a capacitive screen, Snapdragon processor, and Froyo, and I (and many others) will buy it. It’s not that hard!

    • ckeegan

      that’s all I’m waiting for.

  • Matt Thompson

    FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Is a five-row keyboard too much to ask for? The G1′s is awesome. Might as well get a fucking myTouch 3G Slide if I wanted a numberless keyboard.
