Verizon cuts BlackBerry Storm pricing to $50

General

It seems like only yesterday that Verizon gave the general public a first taste of the BlackBerry Storm, RIM’s first and currently only touchscreen phone. If you’re a late adopter, we have awesome news for you: Verizon has reduced the price of a brand spankin’ new Storm to just $49.99 on a 2-year contract. Oh, and the latest buy-one-get-one-free deal we scooped is still going on, too. So what’s with all the BlackBerry deals intended to clear store shelves? At this point it seems pretty obvious but if you’re a bit slow on the uptake, allow us to spell it out for you. Yeah, you read our minds.

Wow. I have a feeling a lot of you will eat your words a few weeks from now. When Storm 2 comes out it won’t be discounted as much as this and you will want one. I’m happy using Storm 1 for the time being until a nice update comes out for it. if you haven’t seen the new software for it, stop hating on RIM and google ’5.0.0.191 walkthrough’

Any Idea on an official release date for the Storm 2?

    October 14th

Storm 2 could very well come out for AT&T.
RIM will have 3 Canadian carriers that the 850/1900 bands will work on. ROGERS(and Fido) are ready for a Storm now. And TELUS and BELL will have their HSPA starting this fall in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics and the network will be up Canadawide by next spring. Telus already has the first Storm (I think Bell does too??). There should be a AT&T compatible Storm 2…..

You are so right. I am one nire frustrating moment from launching this pile of crap out the window onto the street below. Nothing more pathetic then screen freeze and certain screen buttons not even functioning. I have small fingers and I cant even type on this crap. Thanks for creating this BB, NOT!

I wanted a storm and bought it on launch day.I have to believe that there must be different versions of this storm out there, as some people seem to actually like it. Mine is a piece of crap. When it is not freezing its slow. Kkeys wont respond etc. It is my most disappointing technology purchase ever. Knowing what I know now…I would not buy for a $1.
