HTC Touch Pro now available from U.S. Cellular

General

Amidst a less-than-impressive lineup, U.S. Cellular has finally launched the HTC Touch Pro and kicked its smartphone offering up a notch or two. Earlier this month we reported that the Touch Pro was making its way to this scrappy young carrier but things were still at rumor status. Now that it’s here, we can likely make the assumption that the BlackBerry Pearl Flip, Samsung Gloss and LG UX840 won’t be far behind. As for the Touch Pro, it’s not exactly a new handset so we won’t bother covering the specs for the umpteenth time. You know all about it, you love it and if you’re a U.S. Cellular customer you’d be remiss if you didn’t check it out. Sure you might see the Touch Pro2 pop up soon in the hands of a few pals, but at least you can take solace in knowing they probably paid around $800 for for it while you scored your Pro for $250 after a $70 mail-in rebate.

Thanks, Sams!

Looks as if you’d need a big pocket to fit this thick phone in.

No worse than the previous version, HTC Titan (PPC-6800). At least this device sports a better screen.

Wow…are they sure their customers can handle such a power house smart phone? I guess those RAZR’s must be wearing out and people are looking for the next cool thing…

Left USCC three years ago because they are so far behind in the smartphone category. But they have nice cell coverage in most of the area’s they service. A good company to buy a cell phone for your grandparents.

@BB_Storm4me. I cancelled my account on USCC two months ago for the same reason. In my area, they do not even have ev-do yet. I do have to say my experience with their cust. Service was excellent and other than the super slow data plan the coverage was good.

haha thats funny the best phone in the US. This phone is almost a year old..YAWN!!

To be fair, you have to consider the fact that U.S. Cellular is actually a regional carrier and not national like the larger carriers (other than what’s left of Alltel) and, as such, they are naturally not going to have the same quality selection of phones as the national carriers. In fact, to my knowledge, they have the best phone selection of all the regional carriers.

Be prepared to spend alot of time charging this bad dad! I only use it for an hour just as a phone with no apps running and it goes dead! And the alarms/reminders don’t go off half the time!

USCC may have a phone HTC TOUCH PRO just coming out because they like to see what the phone is doing on other carriers before they offer a phone that the customer has to keep hard resetting, soft resetting, ect. They might be slow to introduce the phones because they are trying to protect their consumers.

    Just my opinion.

Agreed US Cellular is a way behind on phones, but here in Bedford County, VA particarly Big Island, VA if you are not US Cell then you are not talking PEROID. Alltel has some coverage as well as Sprint (only Sprint CDMA) but not enough to make a call unless you are standing on top of a house or in the top of a tree. Sure wish there was more competition as far as carriers around here ….. might think about coming up into the 21st century like most everyone else…..

I have the Touch Pro with U.S. and it sucks. The rom & ram are useless, I have to reset it atleast once a day. It’s always on the charger, freezes constantly even making calls or texts & if I hit a dead zone it looses all funtion for about half the day. Great concept though.

lol thats because you are running us cellulars rom on it genius. rofl. besides the phones rom has nothing to do with the issues your talking about.
learn a little more about the device your holding and you will realize that if you just read a little bit, youd find that this phone is absolutely awesome with a nice custom rom.
