iTunes 8.1 is better, faster, stronger and now available

General

It’s time to get to upgrading, folks, because the new version of iTunes promises to be faster and includes a new set of features. The Genius feature now supports movies and TV shows beyond just music, CDs can be imported at a much higher quality and the overall experience is much faster. That means when you’re syncing your iPod or iPhone, browsing through playlists or shopping in the iTunes store, the improved speeds will make the experience more rich and pleasant – especially with how impatient many of us can be. Oh and if you’re planning on grabbing a new 4GB iPod Shuffle, iTunes 8.1 is required. You don’t need us to tell you what to do next, but just in case, go ahead and download it already!

    My Itunes 8.1 is slower..!!!!

When i choose a number from my NAS it takes about 5-6 sec before the number is actualy loaded and played… Don’t know why??

The “funny” part is that it is not always. Sometimes it loads in half a second, like it always did… Sometimes it takes 5-10 sec.

fuck all you people that say, “if you dont like it, move on”. listen assholes, not all of us buy in to the mac thing. We paid for Ipods that should be able to be synced at a decent speed, not at 1 song a minute, and no it is not the computer, its Apple. If i could use some other program to update my Ipod, i would. But i cant, so fuck you and fuck Apple. And I hope nobody got paid for writing that software.

Your statement about iTunes 645-bit support is not accurate. The automatic upgrade wiped out my music library. It did save a copy in my previous version folder to reimport killing time for over 40,000 songs, movies, etc. Another wonderful side effect is my iPod Touch has not been able to sync since. When I checked with Apple for the correct version to use, I was told to use 8.0.1. I got installed and still no sync and I am being pinged to upgrade. Bye Bye iTunes….Hello Media Monkey.
