We’ve heard a lot about the Nintendo Switch controllers this weekend, mostly because they refuse to work properly. But as it turns out, there’s another reason to take a second look at the Switch controllers.
Most Switch owners are going to be using the Joy-Con controllers, which snap onto the console itself or a separate charging accessory. But if you’re planning on mostly using the Switch like a regular console — plugged permanently into a TV — then Nintendo made you a more traditional controller.
It’s called the Pro Controller, and it looks mostly like any other console controller: two handgrips, two joysticks, and a bunch of buttons for you to mix up. But hiding inside the plastic shell is a cool little easter egg.
There's a secret message on the Pro Controller that says "thx2 allgamefans!". Thats so cool ;)#nintendoswitch #nintendo #switch pic.twitter.com/TNbpGdkY6K

If you pull down the right joystick and shine a light on the space just around the top of the joystick, you should see a message that says “Thx2 allgamefans,” seemingly a hidden message from Nintendo’s developers to people who buy the console. There might be some hidden symbolism that we’re missing, but it seems to just be a hidden message to anyone who goes out of their way to pick up the Pro Controller.
It’s a neat detail for Nintendo to include, but part of me wishes that the company’s attention to detail focused a little less on adding hidden messages to gamers, and just a little more on making sure that the controller actually works when you’re sitting near an aquarium.
