We all have that one friend who always has an inexplicably large number of charging cables on their person. To be honest, if you took time out of your day to read this blog post about an iPhone charging accessory, it may well be you.
Well, good news, charging aficionados! An Indiegogo campaign has sprung into temporary life to provide you with a vision of a future where you’re never more than a few inches from a certified iPhone Charging Solution, thanks to an overly large iPhone case that builds the Lightning cable and the wall block into the back.
The EZ Charge Case is a bulky iPhone case that has a charging block and a 28″ USB cable built into the back. When you want to charge, you pull the wall block out of the case, plug it in, and crouch near the outlet like an electrically-powered hobbit.
There are technically two versions of the case: the $39 EZ Charge Case, which is exactly what I just described, and the $59 EZ Charge Case Pro, which is the same thing but with a 2,000mAh battery also built in. EZ Charge created the following chart to help you understand the difference, in case adding a battery was too complicated to follow:
The EZ Charge Case is raising money on Indiegogo right now, with shipping somehow expected in March of this year. As always, buyer beware with crowdfunding projects, especially those with ambitious timelines. In this case, at least the project isn’t aiming to make a flying wristwatch or change the laws of physics, so it’s not unrealistic to expect success at some point in the distant future.
