Last week, Twitter shocked the world when it abruptly discontinued Vine, the beloved six-second video platform. Although Twitter says that it plans to keep the service online for the foreseeable future, the app will likely vanish in the coming months, potentially erasing millions of Vines in the process.
Thankfully, if you have Vines you want to keep online, there is a solution.

Shortly after Twitter announced the end of Vine, popular GIF search engine Giphy revealed a new feature called Giphy Loves Vine on its website that will allow Vine users to easily export all of their short videos to their Giphy accounts in an instant.
“The Vine community fostered a truly special kind of humor and innovation; GIPHY wants to provide a place for that creativity to live on,” says Giphy on its website.
“That’s why we built a tool for Vine creators who would like to save GIF versions of their personal content library to their GIPHY account — importing each and every Vine they created as a GIF, along with a link to the original Vine and saving the video (sound and all) as the source file. Same loop…new format.”
If you want to import all of your Vines on Giphy, just head to this link, log in to (or create) your Giphy account, copy and paste the profile URL of your Vine account into the appropriate box and click the Import button. You did it!
Now let’s just hope that Giphy doesn’t shut down any time soon.
