Game of Thrones
fans who have been busy debating whether or not Jon Snow is alive or dead won’t have to speculate any further once April 24 rolls around. HBO this week announced that the sixth season of its award-winning series will debut on Sunday, April 24.

As we highlighted a few days ago, the sixth season of the popular fantasy drama series will be based on plot points from George R.R. Martin’s book The Winds of Winter. Only problem is, the book is a bit behind schedule and won’t be released for some time, which is to say that this will mark the first time that the show will spoil the book.
“For years my readers have been ahead of the viewers,” Martin explained in a blog post last week. “This year, for some things, the reverse will be true. How you want to handle that… hey, that’s up to you.”
Not to fear, Martin has collaborated closely with series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to ensure that the book and TV show will remain closely aligned on key themes and plot developments.
And oh yeah, how could we forget; April 24 will also mark the return of two other HBO shows, Silicon Valley and Veep.
And The Golden Age of TV rages on.
